EXTREME TEST: “Roomba 620” and “HOM-BOT 3.0”
The Vacuum Cleaning Robots iRobot Roomba 620 and the LG HOM-BOT 3.0 operating test in direct comparison.
Especially in a real household with children sometimes smaller objects remaining unnoticed on the floor. For example, the hair ribbon of the daughter, Lego bricks or a marble of the son etc..
How the Vacuum Cleaning Robot behaves in such a situation?
Will he continued the cleaning or will he stop and wait for help?
Who wants to make every time the home safe for the robot or run after him while he is doing his job?
Of course, there should be no cables, shoelaces etc. at the ground. But a small marble or a Lego block should not affect the operation of the robot immediately, so that he may already after one minute not finish his job, and waits for human help.
After 1 week of use in our living room, corridor and kitchen it takes us about 30 minutes to clean the brush of the LG HOM-BOT. Maybe it takes so long because the brush has to look like new after the cleaning, because we send the HOM-BOT already back at our fair seller “myRobotcenter”.
In Fact we don’t like to have children’s toys in the dust container. Normaly we and the kids check the floor before we start the vacuum cleaning robot. But once we had overlooked a small part, we come back after shopping and the living room was not cleaned by the HOM-BOT. That’s why we made this experiment.
We prefer to find sometimes a small toy in the dust container and feel more secure that the living room is cleaned until the end.
By the way it needs no toys to stop the HOM-BOT, there are enough other situations which are stopping the LG. For us, this comparison is fair and that is why we have opted for the Roomba 620 from iRobot.
